What a Gap Audit covers, and why we start every engagement with one
Before you spend on accreditation, planning or licensing, you need to know where you stand. Here is what a Gap Audit looks at and what you get at the end.
A Gap Audit is a short, written assessment of where your hospital stands against the standard you want to meet. It comes before any engagement, so you can decide what to do with facts in hand.
Why start here
Most delays in accreditation and licensing come from gaps found late: a missing record, a layout that does not work, a policy no one follows. Finding them first costs less than finding them during an assessment.
A Gap Audit also tells you what you do not need to change. That matters as much as the gaps.
What we look at
- Documents. Policies, SOPs, registers and records the standard expects.
- Processes. Whether what is written is what actually happens on the floor.
- People. Whether staff know their part and can explain it.
- Premises. Space, zoning and facilities against the requirement.
- Licences. Which registrations and approvals apply to you, and their status.
What you get
- A written list of gaps, each with why it matters.
- A corrective action for each gap, practical for your staff and resources.
- A clear split between what is mandatory, what is recommended practice, and what is our advice.
- A suggested order of work.
You decide what happens next. You can close the gaps yourself, with us, or not at all.
What it is not
A Gap Audit is not a guarantee. Accreditation, empanelment and licences are decided by outside bodies. The audit tells you how prepared you are, not what they will decide.
